What is White Knight?

White Knight is an annual fundraising gala put on by the Ron White Foundation. The White Knight Gala raises funds and awareness for an annually chosen charity, partnering with them to support the partnering charity’s key programs, new initiatives and in general, help to move it one giant step forward. Charities are recommended by the White Knight Advisory Board.

The third annual White Knight Gala, presented by RBC, was held at the original Larkin Heritage Estate in South Rosedale on Wednesday June 1, 2011. From an electric cellist on the rooftop to syncro swimmers in the pool, guests enjoyed this sold out “white” party for a third year in a row bringing total funds raised by White Knight in 3 years to over $1M. Proceeds from 2011 White Knight Gala will assist with Egale’s Safe School Campaign, the world’s first national program to combat bullying and homophobia in schools as well as the Triangle Program, Canada’s only high school classroom for bullied LGBT youth. Previous White Knight Galas supported Free the Children’s GO Local program. a youth empowerment program helping at risk youth in 60 GTA schools.

What is the Ron White Foundation?

The RON WHITE FOUNDATION is a registered Canadian charity incorporated in 2009.  The Foundation hosts an annual fundraiser gala entitled 'White Knight' which focuses on raising funds, awareness and education for human rights based issues both locally and internationally. Through the RON WHITE stores, the Foundation runs Canada's largest Shoe Drive for the Homeless and an annual Breast Cancer fundraiser. 

Founded by Ron White, a leading Canadian shoe entrepreneur (www.ronwhiteshoes.com) with seven retail locations who is well-known for his dedication to philanthropy, and is famous for his All Day Heels®.  A portion of the proceeds from every pair of Ron's men's collections and his All Day Heels® collection is donated to the Foundation.  

Over the past 14 years, through his stores, Ron has operated an annual fundraiser in partnership with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation raising thousands in support of finding a cure. The Ron White stores also run Canada’s largest Shoe Drive for the Homeless each winter and with the help of many local and international celebrities, have collected and distributed over 21,000 gently worn shoes and boots to those in need.

The Ron White Foundation is a culmination of Ron’s philanthropic endeavors. Through his Foundation, Ron now rolls together his dedication to give back and make the world a better place, with his love of fashion and shoes. Taking his annual giving to the next level, Ron has assembled a talented and seasoned Advisory Board to help bring about White Knight, a fresh fundraising event.
